Frozen Finds a New Home at Disney California Adventure

Those if you who know me personally may have heard me predict months ago that the growing number of unused spaces and systematic closure of attractions in DCA’s Hollywood Land were probably leading towards a full scale themed renovation of that land, and that theme would probably be Disney’s Frozen (2013). Well, not only has this prediction come to fruition, it has done so in far more spectacular ways than I could have imagined. Here is what you can see there:

Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome
Make a stop At their new home in Hollywood Land where you can receive a royal greeting, right out of Arendelle! It’s Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome—your chance to receive a goodwill greeting at the Animation Academy in Disney California Adventure Park. These regal sisters are eager to share stories of their icy adventures. And, in return, they want to learn all about your kingdom too!

Frozen Takes Over The Animation Academy
Do you want to draw a snowman? Well, now you can! Just drop by the Royal Academy—tucked inside the Animation Academy—where a real-life artist is on hand to teach you how to sketch characters like Olaf and Marshmallow.

Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
“Let it Go” Like Never Before. Join your Frozen friends and the royal historians of Arendelle for a fun and frosty interactive showcase! This winter at Disney California Adventure Park, head to Muppet*Vision 3D—temporarily taken over and reimagined as the Crown Jewel Theatre—where you can laugh and sing along to a timeless retelling of the tale that’s as humorous as it is heart-warming. Two Arendellian Storytellers host the festivities and introduce each magical musical number, complete with Anna, Elsa and Kristoff joining in the fun. And along the way, Guests of all ages are encouraged to sing along with a few favorite Frozen tunes… that includes you!

Olaf’s Snow Fest
Do You Want to Build a Snowman? See Arendelle come alive with an icy celebration featuring music, sweets, souvenirs, real snow and even a hug from Olaf! Winter magic has transformed Stage 17 into a snowcapped courtyard in Arendelle, where everyone is invited to join in on the enchantment and adventure of Frozen Fun! Build a snowman, swoosh down a snow slide or simply join in on the frosty fun. Meet Olaf nose-to-nose, share a “warm hug” and say “freeze” for the camera. Lend an ear to Arendellian entertainment or play a role in some of the charming songs and story games of The Tubadours and The Frolicking Fjords.

Freeze the Night! A Family Dance Party
Boogie and Sway at a Snowy Soirée! Get down and groove as the temperature goes down too at a dazzling dance party—inspired by the icy ambience of Frozen. Each and every evening, Guests like you are welcomed to “chill out” at Freeze the Night! A Family Dance Party, featuring music from DJ Chill, interactive fun at The Ice House, the Ice Breakers dance crew and more. After walking under an icy archway, feel a sense of wintry wonder wash over as you’re immersed in dazzling, Frozen-inspired décor and lighting effects—perfect for photos—and treated to tasty sweets and frosty beverages that all ages can purchase and enjoy. Plus, throughout the night, a giant thermometer will even register the drop in temperature, as things get so cool, they ultimately reach the freezing point… and everyone lets it go in a Frozen Fun crescendo!

Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post
Stumble upon Oaken’s secret stockpile on the Hollywood Backlot to discover a cool collection of Frozen-themed apparel, keepsakes, trinkets and toys—plus plenty of other items you may need to brave the cold and save Arendelle!
